DiVa Laser Vaginal Therapy

How does the diVa laser work?

Looseness and laxity are amongst the highest complaints for women seeking vaginal improvement. The diVa laser treatment is the newest evolution of laser vaginal therapy built on years of experience. diVa delivers two types of energy to aid in resurfacing the vaginal skin, while also stimulating the tissues were collagen, blood vessels, and nerve endings below the surface of the vaginal walls reside.

The deeper layer of the vaginal skin is responsible for the elastic nature of the vagina, the lubrication of the vaginal skin, and the sensitivity of the vaginal canal.  Treating this deeper vaginal layer can thus help improve overall feminine health.

The treatment is quick and safe, and by adjusting both ablative and non-ablative settings of the laser, specific issues can be addressed, delivering a customized treatment at the patient’s benefit.

Don’t let vaginal and/or sexual health issues get in your way. Find out if diVa is right for you.

Are you a good candidate for diVa?

Childbirth stretches the vaginal canal and surrounding tissue. The vagina can mostly be repaired by the body’s own healing response, however, with many women, the tissuey not return to the same state as before giving birth, especially after multiple pregnancies. This stretching damages the vaginal walls, perineum, and surrounding tissues, which often leads to many symptoms of diminished vaginal health and function.

Menopause and other events such as hysterectomy, chemotherapy, of breast-feeding, may lead to reduced estrogen production by the ovaries and may often lead to thinning, drying and inflammation of the vaginal walls. For many women, this may decrease healthy vaginal function.

If you are experiencing issues with vaginal health and sexual health, then this treatment may be of help for you.

Contraindications

Contraindications include :

  • severe prolapse
  • active infection

Your doctor can go over these issues with you during your first consultation. In general, most women aged 25 and up can have the diVa laser treatment. Positive results have been found in women of all ages. diVa is not for pregnant women.

It’s Fast!!

A 3-5 minute procedure that will change everything.

The automated and computer controlled treatment takes only 3 to 5 minutes. The quartz covering the laser is disposable, making this procedure safe and hygienic.

During your treatment, the diVa device, that includes a single use quartz dilator, is carefully positioned in the vagina. Once inserted, the dilator is left in place, and the device rotates through the treatment area, hence administering laser energy with high precision. No manual positioning is required, allowing for accurate targeting and greater patient comfort.

A slight pressure may be felt against the vaginal wall, and some patients may experience increased sensitivity near the vaginal opening.

The diVa laser therapy is fast, with minimal to no discomfort.

After the treatment
  • Normal activity can be resumed immediately after the treatment. No downtime is required.
  • Spotting may occur for a day or two.
  • Avoid intercourse for 48 hours. This is the period where your body starts to produce new cells in the vaginal lining.
How many treatments are recommended?

Clinical study data demonstrates that 1-3 procedures, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, provide the best results. Patients generally notice improvements after the first procedure, and optimal results are achieved one month after the third procedure.

Maintenance

Therapy can be repeated annually, or as required. Our physician will assess your individual needs and provide a personalized therapy plan.
